Biography
Carline Napolitano obtained her BSW, MSW and Post Master Degree in Clinical Social Work from Adelphi University. She graduated Magna cum-laude and received Outstanding Field Placement Award.
With close to 30 years of clinical experience, Ms. Napolitano is also a hypnotherapist, trained in EMDR and Certified AEDP therapist. She is a professional dedicated to listen with an open heart.
The first 10 years of her career focused on treating individuals and families dealing with seizure disorders. As an interdisciplinary member of the Long Island Jewish Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Ms. Napolitano participated in and conducted research projects, program development and provided psychosocial support to patients.
She presents locally and nationally on such topics as Psychosocial Aspects of Epilepsy, the Social Worker Role in Epilepsy Centers and How to become a partner in your medical care. Recent presentations include, How to Create a Second Life at Any Age and Developing a New Identity following Epilepsy Surgery.
In her private practice, Ms. Napolitano treats individuals, couples and families dealing with life challenges. She specializes in anxiety and depressive disorders brought on by chronic illness. As a hypnotherapist, Ms. Napolitano treats phobias as well as smoking cessation and weight loss.
She is a member of National Association of Social Workers (NASW), NY State Society of Clinical Social Workers (NYSSCSW), ACSW Board Certified Diplomat, American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). Ms. Napolitano is past member of American Epilepsy Society and Vice President, Emerita 1998-2000 of the NYSSCW-Nassau Division.
She frequently writes articles for publication in social work newsletters and journals.
